National Parliament is an independent, citizen-driven digital platform that allows Bangladeshi citizens—both inside Bangladesh and in the diaspora—to review, evaluate, and submit complaints regarding National Parliament Members and Parliamentary Candidates of Bangladesh and also many other platforms.

The platform exists to promote: Parliamentary accountability, Democratic transparency
Citizen participation.

The purpose of National Parliament is to: Enable citizens to review the performance, integrity, and public conduct of National Parliament Members and candidates

Provide a safe and documented channel for public complaints
Strengthen democratic standards within the National Parliament of Bangladesh
Preserve public testimony for historical, legal, and policy research purposes

This platform does not replace courts, election commissions, or law-enforcement bodies, but complements democratic oversight through lawful public discourse.

Any person who:

Is Bangladeshi by birth or origin
Holds Bangladeshi citizenship
Belongs to the Bangladeshi diaspora
Is directly affected by actions of a National Parliament Member or candidate
may submit a review or complaint, subject to the platform’s Terms and Community Standards.

Reviews and complaints may relate to: Sitting Members of the National Parliament

Former Members of the National Parliament
Declared or prospective Parliamentary Candidates
Individuals publicly campaigning for National Parliament seats
Private individuals with no public political role are not eligible for listing.

Permissible complaints include (but are not limited to):

Abuse of power by a National Parliament Member
Corruption allegations (clearly marked as allegations)
Election misconduct
Human rights concerns
Misuse of public funds
Ethical violations. Failure to represent constituents

All complaints must be submitted without hate speech, threats, or incitement to violence.

Yes. Anonymous submissions are permitted, provided:

The content is factual or framed as personal experience
No private personal data is disclosed
The submission complies with platform moderation rules
However, anonymous submissions may undergo additional review for credibility.

National Parliament: Does not act as a court or investigative authority

Clearly labels content as user-submitted reviews or allegations
Applies moderation to remove unlawful, defamatory, or abusive content
Where possible, publicly available sources or documents may be linked by users.

The platform operates under international free-speech principles, including: Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)

Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR)
European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), where applicable
Peaceful criticism of public officials is recognised as protected political speech.

National Parliament benefits from: Hosting and operational jurisdiction outside Bangladesh

Protection under international human rights law
European Union digital rights and safe-harbour principles (where applicable)
Strong protections for political speech, whistle-blowing, and public-interest reporting

Attempts at censorship, intimidation, or transnational repression are treated seriously and documented.

Content removal may occur only if: It violates international law

It constitutes proven defamation under applicable jurisdiction
A valid court order from a competent international or hosting-jurisdiction court is received

Political pressure or non-judicial requests do not automatically result in removal.
